Recipe for Success-

  • Direct, coordinate and manage order fulfilment, processing and production requirements
  • Resolve related problems within span of control to the standards set by the company
  • Manage the staff schedule in accordance to budget and / or business needs by utilizing the staffing model designed by department
  • Resolve employee issues and concerns while partnering with HR on high level investigations
  • Identify and train talent for the department including coaching, training and developing of matrixes as well as standards of continued excellence
  • Ensure follow through and compliance with Food Safety, Employee Safety Compliance around quality
  • Oversee usage and handling of all equipment and machinery used in the department; including safety and report all issues immediately.

  • Demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous work experience and education
  • English required / bilingual preferred (English and Afrikaans)
  • Three plus (3+) years’ experience with pork processing and production supervisory position.
  • Experience in making bacon, ham, salami, cheese grillers, russians etc.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule / cover various shift
  • Work in a cold environment
  • Able to lift 30 kg’s

  • Minimum of 3 5 years meat butchering experience extensive knowledge of pork cuts of meat
  • Knowledge of butchering manufacturing and packaging equipment
  • Knowledge of department production processes, materials and production techniques
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to lead, train and develop a team
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Knowledge of department production processes, materials and production techniques
  • Previous Knowledge or experience with specialized inventory, warehouse operations systems
  • Food production, sanitation and food safety knowledge, HACCP a plus
