About the role

As an experienced Project Manager, you will work within the Business Development team to lead and manage development stage opportunities.

Your skills will be key in delivering tender responses and developing proposals for complex New Zealand and international renewable energy projects.

The nature of the small dynamic team involves a varied work day. It will expose you to a range of skills including commercial assessment, technical knowledge and governance requirements.

This role works closely with the Operations and Engineering teams to support and deliver key projects.

About the team

The Business Development team has a mix of technical, commercial and management expertise that is responsible for developing a robust pipeline of industry leading renewable energy projects.

The team has a high performing, supportive environment where we love to chase the deal, but have fun in doing so. The BD team is passionate about helping New Zealand and the Pacific realise a low carbon future and helping solve major energy poverty issues.

Responsibilities will include the following :

Manage all project development stages, including budgeting, resourcing, project milestones and reporting

Manage third party consultants such as planner, network consultants, geotechnical and environmental consultants.

Manage the tender and proposal process

Responsible for contractual agreements with clients and stakeholders

Identify, control and monitor project risks

Assess projects for commercial viability using in house project assessment tools

Develop and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external parties

Prepare presentations and project review documents

Skills and experience will include the following :

Tertiary level technical qualification, or qualifications in project management

Experience with proposal development and project management

Experience with a company working across international borders and / or multilateral donors is preferred but not essential

Previous experience in renewable energy is a bonus
