    About the department :

    The AnatomicalPathology Department within LabPLUS is a major referral laboratory comprisingof several disciplines. These include Cytology, Histology and ElectronMicroscopy.

    We report on a broad range of specimens and to service diversity ofour patient population, we have an experienced team with specialist knowledge.

    We are fortunate to have a large number of Consultant Pathologists withconsiderable experience. We also have a very proficient Scientific andTechnical staff all working together to provide a quality service.

    Our methods,training, expertise and knowledge conform to the highest standards expected byour peers and the community at large.

    We enjoy a close association with theUniversity of Auckland’s Medical School and participate in external QualityAssurance Programmes initiated by the Royal College of Pathologists(Australia).

    The Histology Department provides routine haematoxylin and eosin(H&E) stain and also a large variety of special stains. We also offer themore specialised techniques of :

  • Direct Immunofluorescence
  • Frozen Sections
  • Immunohistochemistry (more than 160 diagnosticantibodies are available)
  • About theposition :

    The Histopathologysection is currently recruiting for an experienced Scientist to join our awardwinning team. This position supports all aspects of routine Histology.

    It is extremely important for the successful candidateto have good people skills as we work together as a close Team that encouragesopen conversation.

    Histology as a discipline has real potential foradvancement. We are committed to training with an emphasis on quality.

    This is a permanent full timeposition works 40 hours per week; normal hours are Monday to Sunday rosteredshift.

    About you :

    Our successfulcandidate must be registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the MedicalSciences Council www.mscouncil.

    org.nz with a current annual practicingcertificate. Apart from relevant technical experience and skills, good timemanagement, interpersonal and computer skills are essential.
