Our Financial Crime Operations (FCO) team play a leading role in keeping ASB, our customers and communities safe and protected from financial crime by mitigating the risks of money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions, bribery & corruption and tax evasion.

As a Senior Manager reporting to the Head of Business Assurance, you will provide subject matter expertise and advice to assist FCO to meet its compliance obligations relating to Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML / CFT) with a specific focus on AML Transaction Monitoring and Prescribed Transaction Reporting.

You will deliver accurate and timely compliance advice to enable key strategic financial crime compliance (FCC) deliverables to be achieved and ensure FCC responsibilities and obligations are understood, embedded and being appropriately executed.

Success in this role will be ability to work collaboratively across the organisation, support the delivery of the Bank's FCC FY21 Strategy through leading the provision of compliance subject matter expertise, with a pragmatic and strategic approach to enable the business to understand, proactively manage and optimise how financial crime compliance obligations are met.

Skills and Experience we are looking for :

  • An agile approach, positive attitude and growth mindset.
  • Strong experience in the FCC management industry / understanding of relevant legislation (AML, Sanctions, ABC etc), in particular in TM and PTR.
  • The ability to analyse and explain complex technical information into easy to understand advice.
  • Proven experience owning, driving and delivering to key outcomes with the ability to comfortably manage varied demands, risk, uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Experienced in legal or compliance risk (5-10 years).
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with confidence to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
