Who we are
Ngā Tamariki Puāwai ō Tāmaki - Auckland Kindergarten Association is looking for qualified registered ECE teachers as fixed mobile relievers across our kindergartens for Term 3.
The fixed term Mobile Reliever position is a pilot programme, providing extra assistance to our teaching teams as we navigate through the winter months.
This newly created position is a great opportunity for a passionate teacher who loves relief teaching, working across multiple sites, with the added bonus of guaranteed hours.
Our Mobile Relievers will experience and learn the different and innovative uniqueness of our kindergartens and use this as an opportunity to add value and to learn along the way.
They will support the kindergartens when a relief teacher is required and also gain a sense of belonging by having a base kindergarten that they will default to if not required anywhere else.
Allowing the opportunity to build connections and feel like they are a part of a team.
Why relieve as a Mobile Reliever with AKA?
We offer a competitive salary working with the Kindergarten Teachers, Head Teachers and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement 2019-2022, so your experience is reflected in your pay rate.
This position offers flexibility with days of work to suit your lifestyle, with a minimum of three days per week.
Shorter working day of 6.5 hours to provide a work / life balance.
The opportunity to work in a variety of dynamic environments alongside inspiring, passionate and supportive team members.
Allocated non-contact time to contribute to the learning outcomes of tamariki and for your own growth and engagement in professional learning.
As identified in our recent Relievers survey, our relievers feel a strong sense of connection and commitment to the values and purpose of the AKA and want to be a more active part in this.
The Mobile Relievers will play a pivotal role in the direction of this pilot and its next steps.
If career development is important to you, this Mobile Relieving role could open up some great opportunities. We have wonderful success stories of teachers securing their dream job with AKA after having undertaken relief work.
One on one guidance and support will be offered to the Mobile Reliever from their default kindergarten team and the Relieving Co-ordinator.
To be successful in this role there are a few things we require from you :

Hold a current teacher practising certificate, Category 1 or 2.
Experience working within the AKA network.
Available a minimum of three days per week.
Hold a current First Aid certificate.
Be committed to the success of this AKA initiative and provide feedback on the programme.

Flexibility in travel as you will be asked to move to different kindergartens each morning (travel reimbursement offered).
Access to a reliable means of transport and a mobile phone that you can be contactable on each morning.
ICT is an important teaching tool in all of our kindergartens, so you will need to be competent and confident using technology in your teaching.
