Novotel Tainui Hamilton is the leading hotel in the Hamilton CBD. We are superbly located along the Waikato river with 217 rooms that offers guests an unforgettable experience and we are excited to be looking for an Assistant Manager to join the Front Office Team!

You will be the manager on shift and oversee the day to day running of the Hotel operation in the absence of the General Manager.

Overseeing, mainly Front Office : telephones, portering, security, parking and night functions but not limited to; as your responsibility is to oversee all outlets and assist where needed, including Housekeeping and the Food and Beverage.

Outside of office hours the Hotel Operation is the responsibility of the Assistant Manager. Ensuring that service standards are maintained in these areas, safety of our guests, profitability maximized and customer’s needs met.

Work Experience

  • An ability to make sound decisions independently
  • Effective time management skills
  • An approachable and professional manner
  • Strong written, verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail
  • A FULL and current NZ Drivers License with the ability to drive both Manual and Automatic cars
  • Previous experience in a Supervisor or Team leader role, preferably in a hotel environment
  • A desire to exceed guest expectations and go the extra mile
  • Strong computer skills
  • LCQ Certificate, GM Certificate and previous experience with Opera
  • Current eligibility to work in NZ
