The Merchandise Planner partners with the buying teams to ensure effective analysis, forecasting and communication. Working very closely with the finance and merchandising teams, you will maximise profitability by predicting and monitoring sales trends and accurately controlling stock.

This is a true business partner role which will need you to build strong relationships to ensure that business and merchandise strategies are achieved.

Key responsibilities of the role will include :

  • Report & analyse sales performance of product categories
  • Management of deleted and promotional stock
  • Assisting / supporting the Buyers in seasonal planning, budgeting and category management
  • Delivering key objectives through innovation, customer awareness and inventory management
  • Building strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders
  • Partner the buying team on range reviews & merchandise concept trails
  • Work alongside Category Managers to determine and drive purchase of promotional products.
  • To be successful in this role, you will need :

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, commerce or related
  • 3+ years' merchandise planning experience or have worked within a similar role, ideally with a large retailer
  • A collaborative team orientated approach
  • Strong financial acumen with highly developed numeracy and analytical skills
  • Accountability in seasonal planning, budgeting and category management
  • Microsoft Suite experience, advanced Excel and data analytics capabilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
