healthAlliance is one of New Zealand’s largest shared services providers. We support the four Northern Region District Health Boards (DHB’s) with technology shared services.

The position of Threat Intelligence Analyst has a main aim of researching and reporting on emerging threats to reduce the threat footprint of healthAlliance.

You will detect any network and software weaknesses and collaborate with various operational teams to develop relevant measures to correct and strengthen our security systems.

You will be part of the Vulnerability Management team , reporting to the Vulnerability Manager and the broader Team Manager & Cyber Technical Consulting Director.

Technology plays a significant role in the delivery of quality healthcare services and improving patient experiences. We work in collaboration with the DHBs to support their extensive ICT enterprise and to safely accelerate their digital transformation journey improving the way health information is shared across the region to support better patient care.

  • There are a lot of information feeds out there. You enjoy scanning and collating all these feeds into one usable feed
  • We have over 100 apps and technology of different types. You enjoy a space that is interchanging
  • Be involved in all phases of the threat intelligence lifecycle, the direction, collection, processing, analysis and dissemination
  • Collecting information and conducting technical analysis to develop intelligence for hA
  • Maintain awareness of the national and global threat landscape
  • Review complex, technical threat data and enhance it with contextual information
  • Assist in influencing proactive detection logic and methodology implemented within Unified Threat Collaboration
  • The role is integral to determining critical security risks to reduce the threat footprint for hA
  • What we need to see from you

  • 5+ years in a relatable security role
  • Demonstratable experience in IT Security to create a trusted service within hA that excels in cyber security monitoring and analysis
  • Ability to produce a complete intelligence report
  • Ability to conduct technical analysis and reporting
  • Have a self-driven analyst personality that can operate independently and contribute to the improvement of your team’s technical capabilities
  • An eager learner in the relevant security education areas, and a want to contribute to the collective improvement of your team’s security knowledge
  • Familiarity with Splunk SIEM would be considered a bonus

    This requirement results from healthAlliance being a provider of services to the health sector, meaning that many of our staff interact closely with staff from (and at) DHBS.

    Further, in the event of incidents and emergencies, our Connect building must be available for DHB staff to use as a backup site.

    As a result, all of our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID 19 under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.
