We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Lead to join the team in NZ. A key focus of the role is to oversee the development and implementation of public relations strategies to support our strategic objectives, manage our consumer media opportunities (proactive & reactive)

Working across the business, you will use your influencing abilities, professionalism and strong relationship building skills to achieve results.

Operationally, you will support stakeholders in developing relationships to build and protect Bunnings brand reputation.

About you

You will have the demonstrated ability to work under limited direction with minimal supervision to achieve desired outcomes.

You are able to use your ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritising work, managing your time effectively and efficiently to meet set deadlines.

Your qualifications and experience should include :

  • Tertiary degree in communication, PR, media or related discipline
  • Demonstrated 5+ years' experience in a media or communications environment (inhouse or agency )
  • Proven experience in project management, developing public relations strategy and engaging key stakeholders as part of the process
  • Strong understanding of, and experience with media including monitoring and reporting tools
  • Experience and understanding of issues and crisis management processes
  • Proven ability to work with cross-divisional or multi-functional teams
  • Strong practical and commercial understanding of brand communication
  • Proven ability to identify potential reputational risks as they arise
  • Please note This role will be responsible for managing and executing activity in the New Zealand business, with a reporting line into the Bunnings Group PR team to ensure strategic alignment
