Tauranga, New Zealand
12h ago

For 135 years, Harrison Grierson has been planning and designing the future of New Zealand and, through our many diverse projects, we continue to make our mark on tomorrow.

We're recognised for our innovation, knowledge and outstanding client service, and for being a great place to work. Using the latest technologies and ideas, we shape new and sustainable environments, making life better for everyone.

One of the things our people really value about working with us is the size of our team; we're not too big or too small, so you quickly become an integral part of the business from day one.

That's where you come in

We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Director - Urban Development to take on a key technical leadership role working with, and across, our Tauranga urban development team but also our wider urban development teams nationally.

The role will have strategic, mentoring, coaching, problem solving, networking and business development components, with a strong client relationship focus.

The role is based in our Tauranga office.

You come from a civil engineering background and have a proven and extensive history in the land and urban development space, including civil engineering design and administration of civil construction contracts.

You'll have established local networks with earthworks and civil contractors as well as developers, Council and CCOs. You'll have a minimum of 15 years of New Zealand-based Land and Urban Development experience, a good understanding of contract management, and will be CPEng registered.

You're personable and outgoing and will enjoy working in a friendly, collaborative environment full of solutions-focused colleagues.

You have outstanding verbal & written communication and you're self-motivated, as well as being effective at motivating others.

What you'll be doing

As the Technical Director - Urban Development, you'll be working at a national level to help influence and shape our strategic direction.

However, your primary work area will be the Bay of Plenty region. You'll be a key leader and mentor within our large Urban Development discipline.

You'll also provide and manage the provision of technical Land and Urban Development advice, opinion, and reports across the country to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

You'll be expected to keep a high national profile in the industry, and to stay up to date with industry changes or amendments, as well as relay these changes across the business.

What can we offer?

We're committed to investing in our people and valuing high performers and we offer competitive remuneration packages. We will provide you with support, learning, and development opportunities.

We are employee shareholder owned and shareholding opportunities are available. We provide for work life balance including opportunities for flexible hours and working conditions as well as a dedicated wellness programme.

It may be that you're already operating in this space or that you're ready to step up from your current role. Either way, if you're ready to take on a new challenge, apply online now, or for a confidential chat contact our Talent Business Partner, Andrew Mischefski on 021 404 937.
