About the role

Reporting to the Group GM People & Culture, you will be setting up a brand-new internal communications function, including the review of our current communications model, providing recommendations on any resource / technology requirements, then creating and delivering on a communications plan.

We're a largely decentralised business so you'll be getting creative with your strategies and leveraging technology to reach all our people, many of whom are limited in their PC use while at work.

The role covers communication in all its forms, so you'll not only be writing humanistic, engaging communications, but also producing video content, taking photos, and interviewing people for stories.

Content required will include stories covering our strategic plan, our priorities, progress, results, business initiatives, our people's stories and their successes, industry developments and business news and information that helps people feel connected to our purpose and to the organisation.

About you

As we're establishing this function from scratch, to be successful in this role you'll be an energetic, creative, and experienced communications professional who's been there and done that, which means you'll ideally be bringing :

  • Demonstrated strategic internal communications experience in a complex environment where you've developed and implemented a communication strategy
  • A knack for words and high attention to detail as you will be writing, editing and proofreading your own work
  • The ability to think strategically, while also not afraid to get stuck in and capably being able to managing multiple priorities
  • Natural curiosity, with great relationship building skills, enabling you to build rapport and get a diverse range of people comfortable with telling their stories
  • High levels of organisation and self-motivation.
