Bring yourexcellent communication and organisational skills to lead the Asset Group todeliver Council’s infrastructure capital expenditure programme.

Working closely with stakeholders you willmonitor and report on project performance, using robust project controls andfinancial oversight.

The Challenge

Prepare Council’s infrastructure capex programmeworking closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritise capital projectsand secure funding.

The projects will bediverse from roading and 3-waters infrastructure to community facilities suchas swimming pools, skateparks, libraries.

Lead a team of five Project Managers, providing direction and supportand motivating and enabling the team to deliver.

Work closely with stakeholders and Project Managersto steer delivery of projects from planning through consenting, design, andconstruction.

Monitor and report on programme and project deliveryand performance with robust project controls and financial oversight in place.

Provide leadership withinCouncil to improve project and contract management practices.

Engage with the community andform collaborative working relationships within Council and with contractors,consultants, regulatory bodies.

Your Skills :

Tertiaryqualification in Civil Engineering with 7+ years’ experience managinginfrastructure or facilities-related projects / programmes.

A ProjectManagement qualification would be advantageous.

Ideally haveexperience working in a local government setting.

A tactful,diplomatic style of leadership, strong customer focus, and high professionalstandards and initiative.

This position islocated in our main office in Tokoroa, the largest town in South Waikato and aneasy commute from Tirau, Putaruru and Arapuni if you prefer more rural orvillage environments.
