Integrated Services Case Manager, Supporting Offenders into Employment - Palmerston North

Full Time, Permanent

  • Integrated Services Case Managers provide holistic wraparound support to people with high and complex needs. We are looking for a motivated individual to closely support our clients to gain independence through employment, in an innovative environment.

    This role is part of the Supporting Offenders into Employment trial that is based in several regions nationwide, working in partnership with Ara Poutama Aotearoa - Department of Corrections.

    The focus of this role is to work with people who are soon to be released from prison or who have recently been released, to help them achieve sustainable employment.

    You'll provide intensive case management and navigation to help your clients achieve their goals. You will create and maintain strong relationships, working closely with MSD, Corrections and other services in the community.

    You strive to provide a service that is empathetic, culturally relevant, open, and courteous, ensuring understanding, trust and Manaakitanga is the norm in your practice.

    On a daily basis, you could be doing any of the following :

  • Meeting clients in prison, Community Probation, or Work and Income service centres
  • Helping clients identify their goals and make plans to achieve them
  • Assisting with MSD products and services
  • Making referrals to and attending hui with providers in health, housing, and whānau support
  • Connecting clients to suitable employment, education, and training.
  • To succeed in this role, you will need to :

  • Have a passion for stronger whānau and communities
  • Have a clear understanding of multicultural New Zealand to ensure collaboration
  • Have established networks and a proven record in a similar role
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a full New Zealand driver licence without conditions.
  • Please note external applicants will be required to undergo extensive MSD training. There will be some travel involved in this role to attend overnight training and workshops.

    Remuneration for this role is from $55,821 to $76,754 per annum. Application along this salary scale is dependent on relevant work experience and evidenced skills.
