The role Mō te tūnga

This Experience Assurance Engineer position is located within the DBS Analytics service line, working with Analyst Developers and System Engineers, and alongside a Service Assurance Consultant, Solution Architects, and business users.

The successful applicant shall use their analytical and communication skills to elicit, understand, and test, requirements to business functions and processes, via creation of user stories and acceptance criteria.

The Experience Assurance Engineer is also responsible for creating test scenarios / test cases and automation test artifacts, using BDD and CI / CD fundamentals, whilst ensuring the data integrity in our household surveys and the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI).

About you Mōu

As a member of a DevOps team, you would :

  • Engage with our business, to understand their needs and requirements, advocate for the end users, and provide useful analysis and insights
  • Utilise broad UX skills and coding practices to ensure a product is usable, stable, and attractive to the end user, in adherence to in-house standards and QA best practices, on time, and to budget
  • Have recent experience in applications development, business analysis, and testing
  • Develop and execute both manual and automated tests as appropriate to ensure the proposed solution meets user needs and achieves business outcomes
  • Exhibit effective management of incidents, and other work items, to deliver successful outcomes
  • Provide support and ongoing optimisation of solutions already in production
  • Experience in one or more of the following is desirable :

  • NET, C#, Silverlight
  • Cucumber, Jenkins, or similar
  • Groovy / Gradle, Maven, Scala, or similar (Java-based)
  • JavaScript, React
  • Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps CI / CD pipelines
  • Python or PowerShell
  • R-programming language and operating environments
  • SAS 9.4, SAS programming, and SAS Enterprise Guide
  • Selenium
  • SQL, SQL Server
