Our client maintains and repairs the prestigious brands of Cummins, Kenworth and DAF and they want you to join them now! Due to their current growth and their upcoming plans, they are looking for potentially up to 3 new members for their team for this kiwi-owned and operated truck dealership.

They would prefer if you were a fully qualified diesel mechanic and for this they will be paying very well for your experience.

However, they are open to speaking with candidates that are motor mechanics that want to progress their career within their industry, or anyone that feels they have the experience to take on this position.

You will need though, to have some good knowledge behind you, as they already have apprentice's, so it's not an apprenticeship that is on offer.

Some of your duties will include :

  • Performing truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards
  • Conducting regular preventative maintenance
  • Verifying vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems
  • Collaborating with the wider workshop team, as required, to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
  • Running diagnostics on vehicles and analysing test results
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate reporting and records on all servicing, faults and maintenance

  • Have a Trade Certification in the Heavy Automotive Industries and have some good experience behind you
  • Maybe you are a Class 4 / 5 driver that has good knowledge of diesel engines and is looking to move from the cab, to under the bonnet?
  • You are a current auto mechanic, but want to move into the big leagues!
  • Anyone that knows their air compressor from the alternator - so good mechanical knowledge - that is looking to work for a supportive and growing company
  • It is a given that you will have your own motivation, be enthusiastic and a team player. There are some basics too that you will need to have :

  • Valid driving licence (ideally up to Class 5)
  • Have strong, proven customer service skills
  • Have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Reliable with a high level of integrity
  • Prepared to work - 40-45 hours per week - Monday to Friday with rostered Saturdays
  • Undergo a Drug and Alcohol test (this client operates random drug testing also)
  • You will need to have the right to work in NZ to apply for this role, however, they will look at people with working Visa's, so what are you waiting for.
