0.6 FTE (24 hours per week Flexible days)

Do you have a drive to increase the number of Māori working within the health and disability sector? As the Kia Ora Hauora Co-ordinator you will have the opportunity to work on attraction and recruitment initiatives.

These include (but are not limited to) co-ordinating vocational workshops, supporting social media promotions, maintaining databases and presenting vocational opportunities at kura throughout the Lakes District.

You will be part of a wider whānau both regionally and nationally working under the maru (direction) of the Kia Ora Hauora (KOH) programme and reporting to the Pou Manukura Tūterangiharuru.

KOH the Māori Health as a Career Programme’ is a national Māori health workforce development programme that was established in 2009 to increase the overall number of Māori working in the health and disability sector.

KOH support growth in the Māori health workforce that is more reflective of the communities the workforce serves and supports.

KOH engages with Māori students, current health workers, and community members seeking a career in health. KOH promote health careers, both clinical and non-clinical.

Māori Health Equity Directorate Te Tari Mana Taurite O Waiariki at Te Whatu Ora Lakes, Rotorua Hospital.

Working within the Māori Health Equity Directorate Te Tari Mana Taurite O Waiariki at Te Whatu Ora Lakes you will find we are driven to improve health outcomes for Māori and our wider communities.

Within this team you will be part of the Māori Health Workforce Development Unit (MHWDU) with intentional focus on the attraction, recruitment, retention, development and transition of pou-mahi Māori and development of pou-mahi general.

0.6 FTE (24 hours per week), fixed term to June 30, 2023. Salary range of $43K - $55K.
