Christchurch based, Full time *Please note to be eligible for this opportunity, you’ll be based in New Zealand and hold a valid Work Visa that allows you to be employed in New Zealand* The Opportunity At Deloitte our Private team is focused on creating growth and value for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and their owners, and we’re looking for a driven new Senior Consultant or Manager to join our team.

We work closely with businesses to develop a trusted advisor relationship through our unique and personalised approach to dealing with the individual and unique challenges facing New Zealand businesses today.

You will demonstrate sales and practice development, with the opportunity to make a real contribution to the growth of our successful Christchurch team.

During your tenure at Deloitte you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients ranging in size and covering a broad range of accounting and tax issues.

You will develop effective business relationships with clients, deliver outstanding advice, exceed our client’s expectations and partner with their businesses to grow.

You will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas :

  • Managing multiple jobs concurrently
  • Regular communication with clients and teams to ensure the smooth running of jobs.
  • Building trusted and credible client relationships.
  • Identifying and providing insightful recommendations about a broad range of accounting issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring client and internal deadlines are met, without compromising on quality.
  • Being a role model and mentor for Analysts by providing on-the-job training and development opportunities, influencing the team positively.
  • About You :

  • 4+ years accounting experience.
  • CA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of the accounting and tax issues facing SMEs.
  • Experience in financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Proven ability to building strong relationships with clients & colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • An energetic and proactive attitude.
  • Commercial industry or corporate finance experience preferred but not essential.
