    About the Role

    The Systems Engineer role is responsible for operating Datacom’s technical infrastructure including corporate hardware and software as well as providing corporate systems for the Datacom Business.

    This role primarily performs BAU support activities in our Production Environment, to internal staff, including responsibility for the management of the Incident / Request / Change queue.

    The role is also likely to assist Projects, particularly in BAU handover tasks, but also within distinct projects as the opportunities present themselves.

    The role would suit someone keen to take the next step in their career. We’re after people who exude common sense and professionalism, are team players, have the ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision and who can demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities and a passion for learning.

    What you’ll bring

  • Advanced knowledge and skills in the MVS / UNIX / Windows or equivalent operating systems, and various operating software.
  • Good financial management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue.
  • An understanding of systems integration middleware.
  • Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Ability to frequently interact and network with a variety of stakeholders and team members within own area of expertise.
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role and environment
