At Deloitte our Tax & Private team is focussed on creating growth and value for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and their owners, and our China Services Group is looking for an experienced Tax Consultant / Senior Consultant to join the team.

The Deloitte New Zealand China Services Group (CSG) is a member of the Deloitte global CSG. The New Zealand CSG comprises bilingual business and tax advisory professionals with experience working in both New Zealand and China.

We work closely with the global CSG in providing services to our clients. We have helped both New Zealand clients looking to expand into China, and Chinese investors considering New Zealand opportunities.

You will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas :

  • Acting as a role model and recognising others for the impact they make.
  • Developing high-performing people and teams through challenging and meaningful opportunities.
  • Sharing knowledge and experiences to support the development of peers and junior staff.
  • Collaborating across businesses and borders, to build relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Applying knowledge and skills of relevant practices and processes in areas of specialisation to client problems.
  • Selecting appropriate methods for collecting and analysing data to develop informed recommendations.
  • Ensuring the team has sufficient knowledge of technology / methodologies to complete client projects effectively.
  • Drafting and preparing client deliverables under direction of Partners and Managers.
  • Managing client relationships to a high standard
  • Assisting project leadership in helping clients meet compliance obligations and statutory deadlines.
  • About You

  • 3+ years tax experience in New Zealand.
  • CA (or equivalent) qualified or studying / working towards a CA qualification.
  • An understanding of the accounting and tax issues facing SMEs.
  • Proven ability to building strong relationships with clients & colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • An energetic and proactive attitude.
  • Experience in managing priorities and delivering to deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of the business environment and business systems in China and New Zealand.
  • Proficiency in mandarin would be an advantage.
