What you will do
You'll be responsible for the technical management and professional development of the Estate Planning component of the Estate Strategic Planning team and for the resulting programmes for NZDF property and estate planning and development.
You'll work with single Services and NZDF HQ to identify development opportunities and requirements to maintain the estate as a key enabler of military capability.
You will manage the planning for the continued transformation of the Defence Estate to meet the changing needs of capability requirements.
This will include providing input and responding to the Defence Estate Plan and the oversight of significant critical infrastructure programmes to meet the strategic outcomes envisaged in that plan.
What we need
An experienced people leader with a background in an engineering or property related field.
Your experience and knowledge of / with :
You'll be an excellent communicator, both in written and verbal formats, who is at ease with presentations and presenting complex ideas.
You'll build relationships to get buy-in and bring people on the journey with you, as well as having proven and successful negotiation and problem solving skills.
You'll also require a full, clean & unrestricted Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence and the ability to travel within NZ as and when required.

The NZDF estate and its infrastructure are critical enablers for the delivery of NZDF military capabilities and the support it provides to other government agencies and the community.
The current estate is a complex network of approximately 81,000 hectares and 5000 buildings spread across nine camps and bases, two large land training areas and various regional locations.
