    Ko wai mātou / Who we are

    We are growing our team with an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health clinician and Māori practitioner to help embed our new model of care Te Ara Tauwhirotanga : pathways that lead us to act with kindness.

    Te Ara Tauwhirotanga is the product of extensive co-design with over 400 participants from the Lakes DHB community, a model that clearly articulates what works for people in their recovery and healing journey.

    Mō te tūranga / About the role

    As a registered health professional and cultural expert you will lead by example in assisting whaiora and their whānau to maintain wellness utilising Te Ao Māori models of therapeutic assessment and care.

    The successful applicant will preferably be fluent in Te Reo Māori, be competent in all facets of holistic care and multi-disciplinary team work, have demonstrated ability to work with all ethnicities, but particularly Māori / Iwi and experience in acting as a change agent, Mataora.

    Te Ara Tauwhirotanga acknowledges that health, wellbeing and opportunities for healing and recovery are a basic human right and that this can only occur when individual experience and personal cultural values are recognised.

    The model is the product of an extensive co-design process, aligns to He Ara Oranga and is designed around three central Pou (pillars) of Tikanga (Values), Tangata (People) and Taiao (Environment).
