Operations Team Leader l Full Time Kapiti
The Team Leader's purpose is to manage the daily performance of a team of freight processors. They make sure the processes used by their team run smoothly so that courier product and parcels are sorted according to agreed processing criteria and service performance targets.
With the number of parcels increasing and being a key part of our of a dynamic national network, this area is kept on their toes.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you are available to work the below hours : Monday - 04 : 30AM - 08 : 30AMTuesday - 04 : 00AM - 12 : 30PMWednesday - 04 : 00AM - 12 : 30PMThursday - 04 : 00AM - 12 : 30PMFriday - 04 : 00AM - 12 : 30PMSaturday - 04 : 00AM - 08 : 30AM Key to this role of course is people management and the ability to engage well with truck drivers, contractors, your team and have a good understanding of the transport network.
As well as building a great team, you'll also have a strong focus on continuous improvement and Health and Safety. You will need to be the type of leader who takes a hands-on approach, demonstrates a commitment to safety and fosters a high performing, positive team culture.
There will be multiple sites to manage so time management is critical whilst organising the teams on each site. You will also need to have some admin skills as you will also be in charge of rostering, payroll and other important things that keep the team running smoothly.
