This position provides an exciting opportunity to be part of the CADS Pregnancy and Parental Service which has recently undergone significant expansion.
The Pregnancy and Parental Service (PPS) is a regional service which works with pregnant woman and parents of children under three years of age who have alcohol and drug issues and are poorly connected to health and social services.
The aim of the service is to improve outcomes for children.
PPS is a multi-disciplinary team working to address the needs of parents and strengthen the family environment utilising client led strength based goal planning.
This is a case management / key working role which includes, but is not limited to; assertive outreach, advocacy, service co-
ordination, risk management and working within a harm minimisation recovery model.
Due to the success of the PPS model this service is currently undergoing national expansion and our team is proud to be actively involved supporting this.
We are an innovative team looking for a health professional who is registered or working towards registration with a qualification in the following : applied alcohol and drug studies, nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields.
This is an opportunity to work in a cohesive well supported team where you will develop expertise specific to women their children and their families.
New graduates will be considered.
A sense of social justice and enjoying working with a challenging and complex client group is desirable.
Excellent communication skills, a non-judgmental attitude, a sense of humour and an ability to work autonomously within a team are vital.
