The Social Worker in Schools programme was set up to enhance life outcomes for children whose social and family / whanau circumstances place at risk their chances of achieving positive education, social and health outcomes.
It works with children and families / whanau in a voluntary relationship.
We are looking for a Qualified Social worker to :
Work in partnership with the schools and their families
Be strengths based, solution focused, child -centred and culturally responsive
Be committed to working within the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
What will you need to be successful :
A passion for working with vulnerable children and families
Able to be responsive, creative, flexible in your social work practice
A Level B qualification in Social Work and post qualifying experience
Membership of a professional social work body and registration ( or eligible for this)
Ability to work independently in schools and be part of the SWIS team
Knowledge and experience of case work and group work with children and adults and community development an advantage
