A 12 month fixed-term site supervisio role on the UFB2 roll-out.
What's in it for you
This role offers you the opportunity to work with one of New Zealand and Australia's largest infrastructure services companies.
You will also be working on one of the most significant public infrastructure projects in recent history - a project that will provide ultra-fast broadband technology to the people of New Zealand from Northland to Bluff.
Ventia is a growing business and with a strong pipeline of work in the Telecommunications sector there may be another project for you to work on by the time the UFB2 programme is complete.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced telecommunications field manager or site supervisor to manage subcontractors on our Chorus UFB 2 contract.
This role is responsible for day to day operations and all site works on the network build in the Central Otago and Southland areas.
You will be in charge of up to 3 civil contractors and any fibre contractors who are involved in the project in your region as well.
As Site Manager, you are expected to build a team who will succeed as individuals in their roles and actively collaborate with one another to achieve the collective programme goals.
Reporting to the Regional Build Manager this role offers you the opportunity to display your technical skills and your onsite practical knowledge.
You will bring leadership capabilities and site based construction supervision expertise from the telecommunications industry, preferably in network construction.
You will have excellent organisation skills as well as the ability to plan ahead and avoid reactivity. You will be a strong communicator with ability to build trust and rapport and in turn drive performance with our subcontractors.
Your strong relationship building skills will also help you to effectively manage your interactions with client and council representatives.
You will have a strong understanding of civil installation techniques in either telecommunications, water, or power. Experience in blow and fibre build would be ideal.
As there is also a financial element to this role an understanding of profit and loss reporting is advantageous.
