  • Full time, Permanent Position We are looking for a Senior Advisor to join the Government Group, part of the Government Relations and Partnerships group within the new agency.

    HealthNZ will manage the health system day to day and will plan and commission health services for the whole population with responsibility for improving service delivery and outcomes at all levels.

    Te whiwhinga mahi The Opportunity This is a unique and exciting time to join our Ministerial Services as they embark on the next phase of their work programme.

    You will be joining this newly formed team that sits within the Government Relations and Partnerships group.As a senior advisor within the team, you will play a vital role by working collaboratively across the entire Government Relations and Partnerships group to produce, oversee, and drive strategic pieces of work.

    Nga Pūkenga Motuhake Important SkillsAs the ideal person you will have : -

  • Previous experience in a Ministerial / Government Services / Official correspondence (or equivalent) unit, or related field
  • Extensive working knowledge of applicable legislation including the Privacy Act and the Official Information Act
  • Outstanding relationship management skills you will need to be able to build trusting relationships across the programme
  • Be able to work at pace through a period of significant change and ambiguity.
  • Experience dealing with complex and high-profile Ministerial work across all workstreams such as OIAs, correspondence, PQs and Select Committee hearings.
  • Experience in liaising with stakeholders such as Officers of Parliament, Parliamentary staff or Ministerial staff.
  • Enhance the capability of the team through guiding, coaching, and mentoring of other team members.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and using sound judgment to develop options and provide advice
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships This position has a salary range of $94,716 - $117,146.
