We have a vacancy within the EyeDepartment for a Retinal Screener and Ophthalmic Technician

This position is a joint appointment with theHospital and Community based eye teams; you will work equal time in the communityand hospital teams.
In the community you will be undertaking diabetes retinalscreening to assess and report on the eyes of people livingwith diabetes.
You will be attending different locations across the CM Healthcatchment each week, bringing variety to your day. Within the Hospital team you will be responsible for conducting visual function evaluations of patients, incoordination with the Consultants, with a goal of providing accurate, efficientand a high standard optometric and other ophthalmic assessments.
We are looking for a highly motivated team memberwho demonstrates empathy, is willing to undertake training and learn newskills, be able to work well within a culturally diverse environment and havegood computer, administrative and time management skills.

Training in all areas will be provided. Thepreferred applicant, while they may not have worked in healthcare before, musthave a passion to learn and to help others.
