    Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

    Construction & Innovation - The Construction and Innovation Group supports Kāinga Ora to grow its public and supported housing portfolio through the design and development of high quality homes that meet the needs of the community now and in the future, and by driving innovation across the construction sector.

    The group also advises on standards for quality homes, provides planning and logistical support in the rehousing of tenants affected by construction and provides construction pipeline scheduling and reporting.

    The Building Information Modelling Lead will be the lead subject matter expert on offsite manufacturing and digital construction and undertake research and evaluation to support Kāinga Ora to effectively use these technologies and systems.

    This is a strategic role which will lead a cross-organisational project to investigate the cost benefit and options for the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and the development of a Kāinga Ora BIM policy.

    Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Experience working in a multi-faceted and demanding environment
  • A tertiary qualification in building and construction management, architecture, engineering or building science together with demonstrated experience in the construction industry or in a research role
  • Significant experience and knowledge of BIM and / or digital construction, and the related policy context
  • Experience in leading a complex project and undertaking cost benefit analysis
  • The ability to clearly and concisely convey information and ideas in both oral and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to take considered risks and responsibility for actions
  • The ability and desire to collaborate and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal relationship management and presentation skills
  • Interest in public sector structure, governance, processes and systems
  • Experience navigating and operating in a regulated environment, experience working constructively across functions and track record of building and maintaining the trust of all stakeholders
  • Understanding of partnership obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi
