We are in need of an organized and people driven leader who can join our large team as Grocery Manager.About the roleThis role is all about running the grocery department to it's absolute best at all times.

You will be working very closely with the senior management team and owners to make the Grocery department the best possible.

You will be in charge of the day to day operations of the grocery team including merchandising, inwards goods, storeroom and running the Duty Management team.

The Grocery Manager role at New World Orewa consists of : Leading with passion - setting the standard and getting the most out of every employeeRostering in advance, covering and accepting annual leave, sick leave and other leave.

Keeping to KPI's such as Wage %, Annual leave levels and others.Creating systems and schedules to make the grocery department shine and become more efficient.

  • Setting up merchandise displaysStock control; making sure the storeroom is operating to it's bestManaging the grocery team to make sure stock is put out efficientlyStaff trainingDuty ManagementTicketing and tidy display of storeHandling customer enquiries and complaintsHealth and Safety ManagementStore SecurityHR;
  • helping the office and human resource team with hiring, disciplinaries and performance reviews.About youYou will be a natural leader who does not mind the pressure of being busy and on your feet! You should be known for your great leadership, being able to work alongside your team and grow them daily.

    As this is a large team to lead, you will need to have proven previous management experience of teams.You will need : Valid LCQ and Management CertificateForklift LicenseFirst Aid certificateFood Safety Modules 167 / 168Previous Management experience, preferably in a FMCG or retail environment.

    If you have some but not all of the above, feel free to apply however these certificates are essential for this role so will need to be applied for.

    This is a full-time position, 5 days per week Sunday-Thursday, 45 hours minimum per week. Morning hours however some evening cover may be required from time to time.
