Being an innovative team, Punchbowl strive to provide the right solutions to the right customer, while providing environmentally considerate alternatives. Due to exciting growth and an internal promotion, a unique opportunity to join their team as an Automation Service Engineer has arisen.

This role involves travel to the Bay of Plenty and Waikato as well as other areas of New Zealand. During the Apple and Kiwifruit packing seasons which run from February to May every year.

You will be primarily responsible for installing, commissioning, and servicing machinery at customer sites across NZ (Niverplast and ARKMUS), providing timely, exceptional customer service in person and over the phone. On the job training will be provided so that you will be ready for the busy season in the new year.

Other primary responsibilities include:

  • Regular, preventative maintenance of Punchbowl Packaging supplied machinery for customers
  • Ensuring that Punchbowl Packaging is presented to customers as professional and reliable
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Final assembly, wiring and testing of ARKMUS equipment before shipping.
  • Assist with the compliance process for ARKMUS equipment

For this role, customer focus and previous Mechanical and Electrical analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance experience is essential in order to hit the ground running.

You will also have:

  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Being self-motivated and take ownership, with the ability to work without supervision
  • Experience with packaging machinery a bonus
  • Being able to interpret and update required documentation
  • A strong understanding of automation machinery and fault finding
  • Confidence in mechanical fittings i.e. changing motors, pulling bearings, replacing belts
  • Ideally holding a current electrical practicing license
