Te Tūranga - The Role
Reporting into our Group Procurement Manager, this position is a key member of our procurement / finance team. Key responsibilities of this position include :
Working across all Alliance Group departments as well as a large variety of suppliers across several categories, including packaging, PPE, Site Services, HR and Sales and Marketing.
Exploring value and cost saving opportunities with suppliers through competitive tender processes.
Maintaining effective and mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, peers, and other internal stakeholders.
Delivery of ongoing opportunities for cost reductions, while maintaining or improving service quality and / or supplier service levels.
Negotiating and closing out supply and / or service level agreements.
Maintaining and developing in-depth knowledge of suppliers, markets, and trends
Driving product demand optimisation throughout Alliance Group via collaboration across other departments.
Monitoring performance of all suppliers against agreed contractual commitments through conducting periodic supplier performance reviews.
Ensuring suppliers are kept informed of demand fluctuations and provided with necessary insights of product demand from the business.

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 5 years' proven procurement experience with demonstrable successes in achieving targets / best practice benchmarks.
You will be self-motivated and be someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and diverse environment. You will also have the following :
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a variety of audiences
Be well organised, have attention to detail and experience managing your own projects
Strong commercial acumen
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Proven ability to influence and build credibility
Proven ability to work under pressure and regularly meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
Demonstrated level of confidence to lead discussions with suppliers and / or internal stakeholders
Preference will be given to individuals with category experience in packaging and from a food manufacturing background, with a sound understanding of supplier agreement structures.
Exposure to, as well as a solid understanding of ERP system functionality (Infor M3 or similar) would be advantageous.
