About the Company : Our Client specialises in the shipping and freight business on an international level working with agents in most countries around the world.
They are a privately owned New Zealand company employing over 140 people. They have offices in Auckland, Tauranga, Napier and Christchurch along with another seven agents throughout New Zealand.
About the Role : This is a full time position based in Christchurch office. Working within busy Customer Service team, this role involves providing day to day support to Customer Services team and Key Account clients including accurate and on-time processing of shipment orders, providing at all times the highest levels of expertise and service.
Duties and Responsibilities include :
o Customer Enquiries including quotes and costings
o Entering and tracking milestones for orders and providing reports for customers as required
o Build relationships with your allocated customers and assist them in all aspects of their shipping, of which several are Class A customers
o Offsite Customer Visits as required
o Logistically Consolidate FCL / LCL / Air / Courier shipments for customers
o Arranging Customs Clearance
o Customer and Worldwide Invoicing
o Approving documentation for the Trades / Customs
o Establishing best practice around order management systems and ensure all desks are operating under the same system
o Provide support to the Christchurch team as required
o Arranging cartage for FCL and LCL deliveries
o Assist our Landside Coordinator as required
o Preparing quotes for the sales representatives as required
o Ensuring all communications with customers and service providers are helpful, courteous and of the highest standard
o Dealings and relationships with other staff members are friendly and promote harmony in the workplace
o Plus other duties as required by the Company from time to time
Key technical skills and knowledge required :
o Sound knowledge of Incoterms and supply chain systems
o 2+ years relevant New Zealand freight industry (sea and air import and export) and product knowledge and can apply this experience appropriately
o Familiar with customs clearance procedures, (Customs PIN preferred but not essential), and experience dealing with MPI
o Computer literate. EDI (Cargowise) experience (preferred but not essential)
