The role :
This newly created role is a unique opportunity to work in a diverse, faced-paced matrix style organisation. As our new Risk and Compliance Manager you will be responsible for three keys aspects : Organisational Resilience, Risk Management and Legal Compliance.
The role will be instrumental in ensuring Countdown’s processes are aligned with best practice across the Woolworths Group.
You will be a self-starter who is highly motivated and have a hands on approach to provide support, training and tools. You will be able to create and embed systems and processes in risk management, business continuity and crisis management.
Excellent communication skills are a must and you will be accomplished at engaging and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management.
Some of your new responsibilities will be :
Understanding our key risks; keeping risk and compliance documentation and planning tools relevant and up to date
Managing the register of the company’s key risks
Managing the company’s operational compliance plan, to ensure each business unit is operating in compliance with NZ laws
Providing training to senior management and team members on best practice crisis management processes and techniques
Driving improvements in organisational resilience systems and processes in our Stores, Distribution Centres and Support Office
Supporting / advising the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
Developing processes to maintain risk registers and the operational compliance plan
Working closely with the Woolworths Group risk and compliance team in Australia to ensure our risk and compliance tools and processes are aligned
Managing and building relationships with external stakeholders, such as Government crisis management agencies, to facilitate the exchange of risk information
You will have the following skills and attributes :
Business continuity and crisis management training (preferably BCI and CIMS 4 as a minimum)
Experience within the organisational resilience industry, including response planning and project implementation experience;
A strong understanding of how controls are to be designed to achieve risk and compliance obligations and testing them for effectiveness
Experience of risk management and ability to identify, assess, quantify, report and monitor risk and compliance actions
Ability to work across multiple risk environments and systems
Good communication and influencing skills, with experience making an impact at both senior management and operational level
Enthusiastic, engaging and willing to roll up your sleeves
