One of the largest cemeteries in the Auckland region covering over 90 acres, the grounds here are maintained to the highest standards with ongoing plantings and improvements to ensure the park's peaceful nature is preserved.
You will be part of a passionate and experienced team who deliver a service that ensures our community's needs are met and exceeded during the most difficult timeHe kōrero mōu : About youAs a Sexton, you will be part of our burial team with a variety of cemetery operational tasks including burial preparation, attending burials, and assisting in the crematorium.
The job may involve the possibility of doing chapel assistant roles if needed.As part of the sexton team, you will be maintaining the cemetery grounds with your expertise in line trimming, your ability to operate ride-
on mowers, adornment management, after burial care, and other general grounds maintenance priorities.Being compassionate, reliable, a team player, along with good communication and proven organisational skills is essential to the smooth running of our burial process, chapel and crematorium facilities.
You will be assisting families with parking, advising on any health and safety requirements and most importantly, ensuring families feel comfortable and are well attended to.
