    The Role :

    We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant with a passion for accounting to join our Business Advisory division based in Tauranga.

    Our Business Advisory Division is committed to providing compliance accounting work and service excellence to large middle market businesses and small to medium enterprises across New Zealand and Australia.

    You will assist Managers and Partners providing complex accounting work to a broad range of clients and will help mentoring others within your team, lead change, work efficiently and effectively, and maintain positive relationships with existing clients.

    Key responsibilities :

  • Assist in producing complex special purpose reports, annual financial statements, tax returns and reconciliations for companies, partnerships, trusts and a range of individual businesses.
  • Work on business advisory projects such as : budgets and cashflows, KPI dashboards and management reporting, our virtual CFO offering, developing business plans, cloud accounting advisory, etc.
  • Complete and supervise an engagement involving multiple entities and various structures from beginning to end.
  • Assist with general bookkeeping duties
  • Liaise with the IRD and other Government bodies on client matters
  • Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files are maintained in line with Findex Group compliance requirements
  • Utilise your strong Excel skills and practical experience with cloud accounting products (e.g. Xero, QBO, MYOB) including payroll.
  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all statutory and relevant regulatory requirements
  • What you need to be successful :

  • An accounting degree
  • Achieved or commenced CA or CPA qualification
  • At least 3-4 years of proven accounting experience
  • Strong commercial acumen paired with sound technical accounting and analytical skills
  • Genuine desire to be an enthusiastic and active contributor to our growing team
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise your workload
