As an essential part of the logistic?s leadership team you will manage the warehousing and distribution functions, provide people leadership and deliver improvements ensuring optimum availability of product throughout the distribution network.
Responsible for managing 17,000 square metres of modern high volume, high speed warehouse operation you will lead, via 7 direct reports, approximately 100 staff across 3 shifts.
Your expertise in warehouse and people management, will provide you with an ability to successfully balance the operational aspects of this role alongside the development of people.
Concurrently, the business continues to be a thriving organisation with significant warehousing improvement projects. As a technology savvy Warehousing and Distribution Specialist you will have considerable input into the future success of this operation.
Skills and Experience
With relevant logistics qualifications, you will be experienced in modern FMCG warehouse operations (preferably with exposure to SAP or other Tier 1 WMS and voice picking technologies) and display outstanding people management abilities.
A fair but firm leader, you possess strong communication and computer skills and have the ability to ?think on your feet?
We are looking for someone with a developed understanding of transport requirements and experience with managing remote operations.
Who has strong analytical and action-orientation competencies and the ability to work flexible hours and some overtime as required.
Experience in the developing and managing department budgets. Demonstrated focus on quality, health & safety and continuous improvement.
Proven communication, leadership and negotiation skills.
