An exciting opportunity is available for a detail orientated building consultant to join our specialist building consultancy team, and to be based in Whangarei.

The role will be varied, focusing on multi-disciplinary projects in the building and insurance sector. We aim to partner with our clients to deliver specialised building consultancy services tailored to our clients’ needs.

Desired skills and attributes required for the role :

  • Preferably a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP)
  • Experience in a similar role in New Zealand
  • Knowledge of NZS3604, NZBC and building consent documentation
  • An eye for detail for scoping damage to building
  • The ability to relate to a variety of clients, think outside the square and provide practical solutions
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Ability to travel or work remotely, when required, to assist with projects
  • Valid NZ drivers license
  • Draughting (CAD) skills and qualifications desired, but not essential
  • Main duties and responsibilities :

  • To provide effective building scopes and estimations involving : Site visits / inspections / survey of damage / lossPreparation of scopes and costings to go along with architectural designs to ensure consent process is effectively handledReporting to clients in a timely manner and complying with Company processes.
  • To achieve individual performance targets as agreed with the Team Manager and to contribute to the overall goals of the team
  • To effectively manage a significant file load and achieve a high standard of professional work at all times
  • Develop relationships with clients and brokers to ensure ongoing sources of work
  • Develop networks and relationships within the industry
