The Team : What we do

We re lookingfor an energetic and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant with a can-do attitude to join our Allied Health staff working in the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) on a permanent, full time basis (40hrs per week).

This position is Mondayto Friday, but there may be some weekend work as part of your rostered duties.

The Role : Where you fit in

You will workclosely with patients, and alongside Physiotherapists , Occupational Therapist,Speech Language Therapists, Social Workers, Dieticians, other AlliedProfessions (Psychology and Hauora Maori) and Nursing staff.

You will bring a strong desire to be part ofa team and be dedicated to continued learning and striving for the best patientoutcomes.

Tasks willinclude :

  • Carrying out treatment plans as delegated by a registered Allied Health Therapist
  • Maintain documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and to meet professional standards, both locally and nationally
  • Cleaning / maintaining equipment and clinical spaces
  • Checking and maintaining consumables and stock
  • Delivering and set up of equipment
  • Supervision of exercise programmes as delegated by the Allied Health Therapist
  • Obtaining clinical notes as requested by the Allied Health Therapist
  • Skillsrequired :

  • Strong inter-personal skills and a sound communicator
  • The ability to follow direction to assist in the delivery of treatment and rehabilitation plans
  • Basic computer skills essential
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to health
  • Previous experience in a similar role with a good understanding of health would (desirable)
