About the roleOffering pro-active support to the Leader of the National Party, you will enjoy a high trust working relationship.

In addition to offering executive support services such as diary and email management, you will be trusted to review correspondence and exercise your judgement as to key priorities.

Work demands can change by the hour so you should be agile and calm under pressure. Your ability to build strong relationships is paramount to the success of this role as you will be working within a large and diverse business group and will be liaising with a variety of people on a variety of levels.

What you will bring to the role will include the following :

  • Proven high-level executive assistant / office management experience
  • An ability to work with a high level of confidentiality and deal with sensitive situations
  • Work well under pressure, always remaining calm, demonstrate initiative and a record working to tight timeframesWhile this is a highly varied role where no two days are ever the same, some of your key responsibilities include the following :
  • Managing a busy inbox, diary and coordinating travel bookings
  • Organising and booking meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes
  • Preparing briefing notes for the Leader
  • Responding to correspondence and other communicationsThings are changeable here so an appreciation for the environment and the ability to be calm, proactive and flexible will see you well-placed to thrive.
  • As an employee of Parliamentary Service you will be impartial in your role. Awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting the Leader.

    This is an events based, fixed-term role linked to the Leader, working 40 hours per week.     The appointing base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills, experience, and relativity.
