Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute graduates interested in developing their career in the insurance sector.
This is an entry level role supporting the Underwriting team. You will learn the insurance business, gaining experience and exposure to different aspects of commercial insurance and then have the opportunity to progress into one of a number of career streams underwriting, claims or operations.
You must be able to demonstrate an interest in the commercial insurance sector and be willing to commit to developing your knowledge and skills, both through on-the-job training and further studies.
Duties & Responsibilities : What does the job involve?
Supporting underwriters with all activities related to account development
Build electronic files and ensure file integrity
Coordinate policy issuance to those we are insuring and liaise with Operations team
Triage broker submissions and ensure all required underwriting data is accurate
Draft quotes and binders and review with underwriters
Correspond with brokers; follow up on outstanding information
Act as a liaison to the Operations Group
Qualifications, Skills and Experience :
Analytical, and inquiring. Able to use your initiative
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer focus. Able to develop and manage relationships with our customers and business partners and with internal colleagues to ensure the right outcome for the customer
Thorough and with good attention to detail
Strong competency in MS Office applications
A demonstrated interest in a career in insurance would be highly regarded
