Safety and Compliance CoordinatorApply nowJob no : 492629Work type : Permanent - Full-timeLocation : AucklandCategories : Distribution / Warehouse, SafetyThe Safety and Compliance Co-ordinator is responsible for assisting the National Health and Safety Manager and the operations managers to implement the Linfox Unit safety plans.

This is achieved by coaching, influencing, and mentoring front line leaders and to demonstrate safety leadership of the implementation of the Linfox Safety Management System.

The role requires an understanding of behavioural safety techniques and how strong leadership can influence behaviour at a shop floor level.

Knowledge of statutory and industry health and safety requirements is a key criteria for this position.As a key member of the safety and compliance team, the successful candidate will be required to : Contribute to the agreed Safety goals, in line with our National Safety Plan, or real time changes in safety performance.

Assist Linfox to reduce the cost of workplace injuries and motor vehicle accidents.Provide advice and tools to assist the business units with their safety and compliance responsibilities.

Coach and influence leadership to set and enforce safety standards.Conduct compliance activities such as auditing and performance reporting.

Investigate incidents to find root cause and contributing factors to then recommend corrective and preventative action to prevent a recurrence of the incident.

Coordinate and facilitate risk assessments to manage identified hazards and tasks.Assist sites to achieve and maintain accreditations and certification, such as MPI Food Safety (Risk Management Programmes, Regulated Control Schemes) and Location Test Certificate.

Assisting site managers to maintain records of training throughout the organisation.Monitoring in-vehicle telematics, tracking systems and cameras and ensure exceptions are identified and addressed.

Provide monthly reports and any other ad hoc reporting and administration task to assist the safety and compliance team.Qualifications and experience required : Formal qualification in health and safety e.

g. (New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice).Qualification in food safety is desirable.Appropriate industry experience including health and safety, quality management systems, auditing experience, risk assessment and incident investigation.

Experience with online health and safety management systems.Experience fostering positive driver behaviour.Excellent communication skills.

An understanding of New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries Food Safety Risk Management Plans, Regulated Control Schemes, etc, HACCP, AS / NZS ISO14001, AS / NZS 9001, AS / NZS45001.

You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand to apply for this vacancy.Ideally the candidate will be computer savvy, have an understanding NZ HSSE and Road Transport legislation, and have a desire to further their career within health and safety.

In addition to your experience you will also demonstrate advanced MS Office capability, be an adaptable team player with a sense of humour and possess excellent communication skills.
