We are seeking applications from dynamic and career driven Registered Nurses, with a minimum of 3 years elective orthopaedic experience, to join us in a new Clinical Nurse Specialist role.

About you

We are looking for a positive and confident Registered Nurse who has the drive and enthusiasm to improve the health care of patients cared for by the Orthopaedic service.

This role will act as an advocate for the best model of care for our patients both in the hospital and the community setting.

To be considered for the role you will be a committed team member with a passion for modelling quality nursing practise.

You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and have a minimum of 3 years practice within the defined scope of clinical speciality.

You will have a post graduate qualification (or working towards) and / or a master’s degree. It is also expected that you will have achieved / or be working towards Level 4 PDRP.

About the role

This exciting new role is to provide specialist knowledge, advice and support for patients and their support network / whanau undergoing hip or knee arthroplasty from their first specialist appointment through to 1 year post surgery.

The principles of this role will be based on ERAS working in calibration with allied health, medical teams and community.

As our Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will promote quality nursing care through research-based practice and be responsible for patient care within your scope of practice.

You will have a role in supporting service quality improvement initiatives. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team, educating and sharing knowledge with patients and staff so outstanding relationship-building skills are essential.
