The Team : What we do
Tupuna is a 15 bed extended care inpatient unit on the Hillmorton Hospital. We provide mental, complex physical and medical health care for consumers from 25 65 years of age.
Consumers transferring to Tupuna come from the four adult inpatient acute inpatient units on the Hillmorton site. This is due to the consumer requiring further hospital treatment, before moving home or to the community.
Pukenga Atawhai, Psychologist and a Social Worker. Our aim is to work in collaboration and partnership with consumers and family / whanau, to develop therapeutic, supportive and empowering relationships with consumers, to enable them to leave hospital and live successfully in the community.
The Role : Where you fit in
These positions would suit motivated nurses who have, or who would like to develop their psychiatric and medical skills, within a supportive team environment.
Good communication, interpersonal and documentation skills, along with a compassionate nature will see you excel in this area.
The positions are based on a rotating roster (i.e. 4 days on, 2 days off for 0.94 FTE), thus flexibility across all shifts - morning, afternoon, and night shifts - is imperative.
A comprehensive staff orientation package is provided.
Previous Mental health experience is essential.
If you have a current NZ Registered Nursing Practising Certificate that includes a scope of practice for Mental Health, then this could be the new career challenge for you.
