    The details : Permanent positions available 0.6 1.0 FTE

    Waikato DHB are looking for Registered Nurses to join our Covid Immunisation Team to support vaccine delivery in various settings within our region.

    We have positions available in all of our sites and welcome applicants from our rural settings.

    Current sites include :

  • Hamilton and surrounds
  • Thames Coromandel
  • Taumarunui
  • We would love you to join our friendly team to share in our vision in providing equitable access to COVID-19 vaccinations within our communities.

    Ideally you will be an authorised nurse vaccinator however training will be provided to achieve this.

    The successful applicant will :

  • Be a registered nurse
  • Be resilient, flexible and easily adapt to changing environments
  • Possess a high degree of cultural competence and can lead with manaakitanga.
  • Willing to embrace challenge
  • Upfront constructive conversations
  • Cup half full person with a sense of humour
  • Be confident and comfortable with navigating IT systems
  • Fully Covid-19 vaccinated
  • Have a full NZ driver’s license
  • As an authorised vaccinator your role would include :

  • All aspects of a vaccinator role as per national standards.
  • Manage the cold chain requirements from both vaccine fridge and community cold chain.
  • Ensure all equipment required to provide a safe vaccination event is available, including emergency equipment.
  • Prepare the vaccine, ensuring the vaccine is safe to use.
  • As an authorised vaccinator your role may also include :

  • Supporting our Public Health Nursing team in delivering school based vaccinations as per the current immunisation schedule.
  • Having oversight across the vaccination team on a site.
  • COVID-19 :

    The Waikato District Health Board Health & Safety has a policy that includes ensuring that you comply with the Health Order announced 11 October 2021 and with the Waikato DHB’s Vaccine Preventable Diseases for Employees policy.

    The policy prescribes the required vaccinations including COVID19 for all employees of Waikato DHB. COVID-19 vaccinations are mandatory before you commence employment.
