Support Workers - New Plymouth / Hawera

HealthCare NZ is the leading provider of Community-Based Home support, Rehabilitation, Nursing and Mental Health Services across New Zealand.

We are committed to providing support, respect and dignity to all New Zealander's enabling them to have greater independence and quality of life in their own homes.

We are currently seeking several passionate and motivated Support Workers to join the team in the wider lower Northland region, caring for clients in their own homes.

While the role is flexible and enables you to work hours that suit you, we do require people who can commit to shifts in the morning, afternoon or evenings, Monday to Sunday.

What's the role about?

As a Support Worker you will be working with a variety of individuals to enable them to participate in meaningful activities in the community, support daily living with personal care assistance and home help, mobility needs and help them to achieve their independent goals - for us it's about making a difference to the quality of life for the people we support.

We have a variety of positions available within the New Plymouth / Hawera area - we are specifically looking for several people to join the team supporting numerous clients just with house work and basic cleaning / meal preperation as well as more experienced carers for a Spinal cord injury client who requires assistance with all daily personal, dressing and toileting care tasks.

50 per hour depending on qualifications.

We're looking for people with the following skills :

  • Empathy for others, and the genuine desire to help people
  • Live in New Plymouth / Hawera
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Hoist / mobility support experience however this can be trained
  • A minimum of a restricted drivers licence and reliable transport is essential
