This company is a market leader within the FMCG space and operates a vertically integrated business. The company is situated right in the CBD of Dunedin with multiple sites across the country.
They are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager that reports through to the General Manager of Operations, this role is critical in the transformation journey of this market-leading company.
You must have a relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Operations management preferred, or relevant practical experience.
The Role This position drives both the safety culture development and implementation of the H&S Management System and H&S standards across all divisions of the company.
You will have responsibility for building and maintaining the H&S framework for the business and in parallel engaging staff in building a consistent safety culture across the business.
You will have the technical expertise to help lift overall business knowledge and understanding in terms of H&S and systems management and can influence all stakeholders internally and externally.
This is a role that requires the successful candidate to operate at a strategic level, but this is also a hands-on role where you will be required to roll up your sleeves and get things done’.
Building a change in culture so that compliance is owned by all staffBuilding and implementation of a business-wide H&S Management system that meets all regulatory and business requirementsCommunicate expectations to the business around H&S expectations to ensure all standards are not only met but exceededConduct H&S Management meetings, briefings on system development, staff engagementOversight and coordination of the H&S audit schedule and to ensure full support is available for company sites as requiredManage the internal audits schedule and support audits across then businessActively promotes and demonstrates safe work practices, acts to remedy unsafe work and is safety conscious’ in all decision making You will be able to demonstrateHave strong commercial acumen and be able to demonstrate sound judgement whilst understanding the commercial driversExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to plan and implement with a structured approach and deliver under pressureGood at building and maintaining an excellent team culture and relationships at all levels both internally and externallySolutions focused with the ability to make sound and timely decision whilst having the confidence to seek advice when / if requiredWhat’s On Offer This business well-positioned to navigate its way through COVID-19 with growth.
