The Role

Working within the University’s Project Management Office (UOPMO) and reporting to the enterprise Portfolio Manager, this role focuses primarily on portfolio and benefit analysis.

The analyst helps to lead and champion benefit management practices including improvement to associated processes and to the capability of University stakeholders.

The role is integral to supporting the efficient and effective operation of project, programme and portfolio management (3PM) practices and ensuring that the University’s investments in strategic change deliver optimum value.

As a Senior Analyst you will :

  • Engage and influence project stakeholders to ensure a common University-wide understanding of benefits management;
  • support and contribute to the development and adoption of consistent University-wide project frameworks and methodologies;
  • support the efficient and effective operation of University project, programme and portfolio management (3PM) practices;
  • provide analysis of portfolio level performance through tracking against key performance indicators;
  • analyse project benefit performance through the examination of status reporting.
  • The role actively contributes to a high performance team environment, provides excellent customer service and identifies continual service improvement practices.

    It is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a small but highly skilled team of project portfolio professionals. This is not your usual PMO environment.

    Be part of a team that provides a decision enabling / delivery support structure for all major change within the University.

    Challenges will include getting to grips with a complex environment, positively influencing key relationships with numerous internal and external stakeholders, as well as helping drive best practice project and programme management within the University.

    Your Skills and Experience

    We are looking for someone with :


  • Experience working in a similar role with a focus on project governance and benefits management;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification;
  • Experience working with, and influencing a diverse group of stakeholders and facilitating project stakeholders' workshops;
  • Expertise in the Microsoft suite of programmes; particularly in Excel and Visio.
  • Preferred

  • Prince2, MSP or PMP qualification;
  • Previous experience in an analyst position;
  • Qualification / certification in benefits management and analysis;
  • Experience of business case development, particularly the Better Business Case methodology;
  • Experience of workshop facilitation.
