Serverless platforms are one of those emerging technologies, setting a new standard in place of traditional architecture and delivering continuous drives business innovation and changing the way we view technology.
To support the emergence of cloud platforms, Deloitte’s Platform and Cloud Engineering team (PACE) is focused on engineering large scale Cloud platforms to support innovation, helping our clients to disrupt their industry, connect their business to customers, and make better decisions about themselves.
As a result, we are looking to add senior Engineering talent to our AWS Site Reliability Team based in Wellington. You’ll work with the rest of the team and advise our customers on solutions, and implement them using scripting and automation such as Cloud Formation or Terraform.
What will your typical day look like?
Use your knowledge of AWS services to advise and engineer effective cloud solutions.
Efficient reaction time to gather requirements and maintain a high level of customer service based on agreed service level agreements (SLA’s) to work across a variety of clients.
Active involvement in the design, build and deployment infrastructure solutions.
Provide a high level of attention to system monitoring, patching and maintaining an optimized cloud platform for Managed Services customers.
Conduct technology proof of concepts and developing innovative solutions based on client needs.
Ability to think critically and solve business use cases to provide fit for purpose solutions.
Strong desire to learn new tools, processes and methodology across a variety of tools and technologies.
A self-starter with an ability to work independently and commitment to problem solving.
An active contribution to share and grow knowledge base in any technology discipline across wider Deloitte Consulting colleagues and external community groups.

Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you! You are someone with :
A passion for Engineering who wants to join a team that values and rewards it.
A background in Site Reliability Engineering or Cloud managed services, ideally with an IT vendor, consulting or professional services organisation.
Experience supporting AWS platforms preferred but also open to Azure, Open Stack or Google Cloud backgrounds. Certifications would be highly advantageous.
A high level of competency across virtualization, storage and networking.
Experience in either Linux (Amazon, RedHat, SUSE) OR Microsoft Windows (2008, 2012, 2016) Server environments.
Good exposure to Web Services, API, Rest or RPC protocols.
A sound understanding of DevOps, ITIL, ITSM, IT security and monitoring frameworks.
High level of understanding of disaster recovery, high availability, fail over and redundancy processes.
Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of modern software development / scripting techniques such as , PHP, Perl, Ruby and Python.
Excellent communication skills with high attention to detail. Fluent English language (written and verbal) skills are a must.
Any other language skills will be a bonus.
