    Mō te tūnga About the role

    As one of Oranga Tamariki's property specialists you will manage all the property aspects relating to your region, with a particular focus on the homes we own and lease .

    We are committed to ensuring the environments we provide for tamariki and rangatahi makes them feel safe, secure, loved and valued and it is critical that the homes we provide are tailored to the needs and behaviours of those living in the home, create safety through thoughtful design and the feel of the home encourages honourable behaviour as it is a space that young people enjoy being in.

    The role also includes acquiring and disposing of property and accommodation, managing all maintenance and modifications to properties, and providing expert advice to inform decision making on property future needs.

    You will work closely with the Regional Delivery Managers on large scale projects and re-fits as part of Oranga Tamariki's five-year programme of work to upgrade and expand our places and spaces across the country.

    Key requirements of the role include :

  • A minimum of 5 years commercial property management experience within a large organisation
  • Have outstanding communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Passionate about making a real change to the lives of Tamariki and Children.
  • Ability to communicate and present complex ideas in engaging and easy to understand terms.
  • Solid understanding of financial data and support recommendations with quantitative data.
  • Experienced in managing multiple contracts, supplier, and service level agreements.
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues and concerns, in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
