We currently have a vacancy in the Central Zone Delivery Team for a fulltime Resource Management Officer.
Being part of a zone team involves working proactively with resource users, communities, rūnanga and stakeholders to support real change in on-the-ground management of natural resources.
We are looking for someone who :
Has excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to encourage people to improve environmental bottom lines inspiring them to go that step further;
Can work independently and proactively towards achieving designated monthly targets;
Can work within the enforcement space and is comfortable having difficult conversations when required;
Has the ability to influence change and is solutions focused;
Has a naturally analytical mind and can work comfortably in a structured, process driven environment
Has a good sense of humour and can work well in a close team
In this role you could be :
Liaising with a diverse range of consent holders, including farmers, land developers and industry, carrying out site visits and assessing technical data in order to monitor resource consent compliance
Analysing data to determine compliance, often with levels of complexity
Responding to general complaints and, when necessary, enforcing the Resource Management Act;
Working with the community to leverage community solutions to community issues;
Making a positive difference to Canterbury’s natural environment
We are seeking a practical, self-motivated person who has excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A wide suite of training is provided.
